I think the internet often has this phenomena of oversimplifying localized issues as global ones, one-on-one beefs as multi-person communal injustices and just plain disregarding how the average human being navigates the world day to day. God forbid something that effects us globally actually be happening — it can be a lot.

In Georgia, where I live geographically, the average stripper makes $33,403 (according to Zip Recruiter). Now, what I’m about to say is first-hand information being relayed. The average stripper quite literally doesn’t give a fuck about most of the shit that people spend hours and days making stories and slides about unless it is directly affecting them, their responsibilities or their bag.

The average sex worker is not an activist and most of the time doesn’t even do pole work when they clock-in. In the triangle of sex-work, stripping can be so many things but one thing it isn’t, is full service sex-work. What sex workers and strippers want, and deserve is respect and payment for their labor. Just like any person who labors ethically.
