Here's the real on me knucking my buck to release the holds on me. Time to "get rid of the shit holding me down". It's time for me to detach from Instagram.

I literally just archived all of my posts on my “pole page.” and my relationship with my practice and there fore social media has been tender since this year began. also releasing the need or want to be in “social community” or to be seen as valuable or important or special… which is what I realized I started to want after having a dedicated pole page. or attempting to engage in social theater. or tryna keep up with the pole joneses tbh. enough
I think the need to be seen as valuable and important is okay but in the context of an attention economy created by Meta ... by their methodology ..I'm seeing that need exploited. It's an important need to have and it's an important role/responsibility to get it from people/places that have the capacity to meet it without the exploitation. And it's hard to ask for and to receive but also GIVE it when the environment isn't conducive for it
I FULLY agree with you. I deleted IG at the beginning of the year because it literally triggers insecurities in me that I don’t feel when I’m not engaging on the platform as often. AND I’m tired of everyone trynna sell me something. over it.
